There are any number of places along the Rivers Ceira, Sotão and Sinhal where you can find a way into the water, and everyone has their own favourite spots – which they may or may not want to share with others! It is always fun to find your own secluded little piece of riverbank or beach, maybe with a waterfall, or a dammed area that is deep for swimming. There is a particular pleasure to be had from making a lazy breaststroke alongside trailing vines and sunflowers, sharing only with the dragonflies darting over the water’s surface.
However, you may require a few more facilities such as improved access to a river beach, a barbecue and picnic area, or a riverside café providing ice-cream and cold beer. There are several such swimming areas in the Góis region with various amenities, maintained by Góis council, and we list here the ones that we know about.
