As you enter the village of Malhada, either by driving up the tarmaced road from Colmeal or by the old dirt road that winds down from Colada de Belide, the first thing you will see as you enter the village is that nearly all the olive and fruit trees are hung with bright plastic containers or colourful plastic streamers. These are not festa decorations, but are to deter the wild boar from helping themselves to the crops. |
